Sonic Disorder  "Cybertroll Orgy In Outer Space" tape
Definitely the best I've heard from Sonic Disorder thus far. Granted, I haven't heard a great deal of Sonic Disorder, just a tape here and there, but this stuff is really original and quite pleasurable to listen to. Maybe ambient, but who's to say? Minimal, drifting, space exploring mild electrical rumblings echoing into your subconscious... Zone out to it, I did! Listen to it in a dark room with headphones on. Unreleased at the moment so write to Erik if your interested.

Sonic Disorder Vs. J Dog  "Collab" tape
Total lo-fi d.i.y. noise split courtesy of Blatherskyte. Minimalist sounds from Sonic Disorder here - scratchy, fuzzed-static-feedback attack turning your mind to sludge. Don't get the wrong idea though, this is still quite listenable. I think I'm becoming a Sonic Disorder fan! Great to turn on when you're fed up with all the latest trends. I wonder if this'll ever make it onto MTV? J Dog didn't catch my ear this time. It's pointless to describe so I'll just say it sucks. Horrible noise for lovers of shit alike.

Sonic Disorder / Jay T. Yamamoto & Brian Noring  "Split" tape
The first side with Yamamoto and Noring working together comes together in two segments. The first part is very minimalist, emphasizing quantity with a long line up of single layered noise snippets, none of which last for more than a few seconds. Some of the noises are alien, and some more familiar. This will be good for the attention deficit crowd, because there is no pattern, theme, or consistency to lull you. The second part I find more interesting, as a sound collage tied together by quasi-musical elements, but chaotic with its sporadic surprises. There is a keyboard, who's function is to supply a backdrop of eerie tension, and a feedback assault that stabs like a serial killer's knife. Super sweet! If you're familiar with Neo-Zine, you know that I review a Sonic Disorder tape in almost every issue. Cheers to Erik for being such a hard working scenester and an awesome home taper. Sonic Disorder do a lot of harsh noise, but aren't confined within the limitations of that genre. Some newer things they use are drums, keyboards, loops, samples, piano, recorded voices and feedback to set tones and fix moods for better expression. Sure, there's still all of the rumbling of a 10 on the Richter Scale, but there is also meditative, surreal trips to take. The 2nd track is a three-way collab which also includes joe Milktoast and Odal. Quite a fat chunk of listening. The cover art of this split is done by Noizist Hal McGee. A lot of artists put their mark on this tape. I'm glad to have it.

Sonic Disorder / Naked Insects  "Split" tape
I'm glad to be alive simply because this demo was made. Sonic Disorder and Naked Insects are two of my favorite projects ever. this is like Reese's figuring out that chocolate and peanut butter taste great together. These freaks compliment each other in the oddest way. They will skitz you the fuck out. I'm getting flesh crawls. Sonic Disorder pushes over the edge of lucid symbolic nightmare, conjuring all too real and uneasy images. I'm pinching myself hoping to wake up. What a dredge. Naked Insects, in contrast, is a barrage of scrapes rivaling the famed "nails on chalkboard" effect and squelch made livid by the quirkiness of light keys or toyish drumming, like a hypnotic regression to troubled childhood. This is the origin of criminal insanity put to music (loosely termed).
